Thomas S. Moore Merlot Cask Finished Bourbon (46.6%)

Thomas S. Moore Merlot Cask Finished is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 93.3 proof. It belongs to a line named after Thomas S. Moore, a bourbon pioneer who built the distillery now known as Barton 1792. The high-rye bourbon spent five to six years in new charred oak barrels before moving into casks that had held Merlot, where it rested for a further one to four years. Each tall bottle carries a racehorse on the label, a nod to Belle of Nelson, one of Moore's earliest whiskey brands. Aromas and flavours of plum, raspberry and dark cherry are followed by floral notes, and the finish brings light tannins and toasted oak.
