1792 Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 49.3% in a 75cl bottle.
It is distilled from a high-rye mash bill and aged in new charred American oak. Each barrel is chosen by the master distiller and bottled without blending, so every bottle comes from a single barrel. The name refers to the year Kentucky became a state.
The nose offers vanilla, caramel and toasted oak with baking spice, honey and a little dried fruit. On the palate there is brown sugar, toffee, dark chocolate and cinnamon, and the finish is long and dry with oak spice.
