1792 Sweet Wheat is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery, aged and bottled in Bardstown. It is a small batch release, bottled at 45.6% ABV.
The mashbill uses wheat in place of rye, which gives a gentle, rounded mouthfeel and lets the sweetness of the corn come forward.
The nose is honey, vanilla and light oak. On the palate there is caramel, toffee and toasted almond with hints of baking spice, followed by a smooth, mellow finish with a lingering sweet warmth.
