This is an 11-year-old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, bottled by Thompson Bros of Dornoch at 48.5% ABV. It was filled to cask on 21st November 2011 and matured in refill sherry butts until June 2023. The label has a distinctly retro look.
The nose is close to the raw ingredients, with grist and boiled barley sugar, lime cordial, grapefruit peel and dry Riesling, plus meaty, gamey notes with Amontillado and kombu. The palate brings barley water, baked pastries, grapefruit juice, sultanas, mace and sea salt. The finish is ginger, citrus peel, sultana and Amontillado sherry.
