The Balvenie A Collection of Curious Casks is a 14 year old single cask Speyside single malt, Story No. 10 in The Balvenie Stories range. It was hand-selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and comes in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky matured fully in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The spirit was distilled just after the distillery's peat week, so a subtle smokiness carried into a cask that had been intended for Single Barrel 12.
The nose has smoldering oak, candied orange and deep vanilla. The palate is woody and earthy, with candied orange, vanilla oak and a whisper of smoke, and the finish is warm and oaky, with lingering vanilla and a faint smoky edge.
