The Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It is a limited edition, matured first in traditional oak whisky casks and then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum.
Malt master David C. Stewart blended his own West Indian rums, filled them into casks and later replaced the rum with Balvenie whisky. The finish adds sweetness and warmth to the honeyed Balvenie character.
The nose is rich with tropical fruit, notably passion fruit, and creamy toffee. The palate is creamy with sweet vanilla, apple, mango and a hint of orange, and the finish lingers on vanilla.
