This is an 18 year old Balvenie single malt from Speyside, part of the Collection of Curious Casks and matured in French Pineau casks. It is bottled at 47.9% ABV.
The casks began as part of an experiment by David C. Stewart with French Pineau wood. They did not at first meet his standards, so they were left to mature for a further eight years under Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie, and changed markedly in that time.
