The Balvenie 21 Year Old PortWood is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 43%.
A marriage of Balvenie whiskies is transferred to port pipes that have held fine port wines. The whisky is sampled regularly so that the casks add the right amount of character while the original spirit keeps its own. It has been made since 1996.
The nose is a perfume of fruity, ripe raisin with a nutty dryness. The palate is creamy and silky, with fruit, honey and spice, and the finish is long, gentle and nutty.
