Aalborg Jubilæums Akvavit (75cl, 40%)

This is a Danish akvavit from Aalborg, bottled at 40% vol in a 75cl bottle. It has a herbaceous character, built around caraway, dill, citrus, coriander and soft spice over a clean grain spirit. It is traditionally served well chilled in small glasses, alongside smoked fish, pickled herring, shellfish and rye bread. It can also be served over ice or used in cocktails such as an Aquavit Martini or a Nordic Bloody Mary. The nose carries caraway, dill, citrus peel, coriander and fresh herbs. The palate is smooth and aromatic, with caraway spice, dill, citrus and soft pepper. The finish is crisp and warming, with lingering herbs and spice.
