Aberargie Expressions Golden Promise is a single malt from a Perthshire distillery, made entirely from Golden Promise barley grown on the distillery's own farm. It was distilled in 2017 and matured only in first-fill casks, 68% bourbon barrels and 32% sherry butts. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no added colour.
The nose has cooked plums, brioche, demerara sugar, stewed apples and baked spices. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with golden syrup sweetness, a leafy herbal edge, vanilla, gentle oak and a touch of sultana. The finish is long and sweet, with spice and pastry fading slowly.
