Aberfeldy 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, first released in 2015 after 16 years of maturation in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. The pairing gives a balance between sweet and spicy.
The distillery was built in 1898 by John Dewar, a wine and spirit merchant from Perth, to secure good malt whisky for his blends.
The nose offers raisins and cinnamon, followed by butterscotch, caramel and fresh apple with a hint of fragrant flowers. The palate is sweet and fruity, with apple, apricot and honey, balanced by gentle ginger spice.
