This is a 16-year-old Highland single malt from Aberfeldy Distillery in Perthshire, in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV. It is finished in Oloroso sherry casks.
The whisky is matured in first-fill, refill and re-charred bourbon casks, then spends around six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. The distillery uses a 70-hour fermentation and draws its water from the Pitilie Burn.
The nose offers warm honey, butterscotch, fruitcake and raisins, with cinnamon, clove and citrus peel. The palate has poached pear, caramel, toffee and orange peel, then raisin sweetness, dark chocolate and firm oak. The finish is medium to long, with dark chocolate, marzipan and baking spice.
