Aberfeldy 21 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 21 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The distillery draws its process water from the Pitilie Burn. The spirit is double distilled in copper pot stills after a deliberately long fermentation, which gives more of the flavour-bearing esters behind the honeyed character of the make.
The nose offers toasted malt, warm honey, fruit cake and candied citrus peel. On the palate it is creamy, with caramel, vanilla, orange peel and dried fruits, and a trace of smoke. The finish is long and gently spicy, ending in dry oak.
