Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Napa Valley is the 2023 release in the distillery's wine cask collection, a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 18 years in a combination of refill casks and hogsheads. It then matured for about 15 months in red wine casks that had held Cabernet Sauvignon from California's Napa Valley. The finish adds spicy tones to the gentle character that marks Aberfeldy.
John Dewar built the distillery in 1898, close to the farm where he was born, to secure malt whisky for his Dewar's blends.
