Aberlour – 10 Year Old 2000s

This is an Aberlour 10 Year Old single malt from Speyside, in the bottling of the early 2000s. It is pure gold in colour, bright and clean. The nose is fruity and lightly herbal, with mango, passion fruit and guava, cooling eucalyptus and camphor, soft malt sweetness, light toffee and gentle oak, with a subtle sherried undercurrent. On the palate it is smooth and sweet, with honeyed malt, vanilla, soft caramel, juicy stone fruit and citrus, then a touch of nutmeg and clove. The body is medium. The finish is of medium length, with honey, light spice, soft oak and a faint echo of the tropical fruit.
