Aberlour – 10 Year Old 2014 Refill Oloroso Quarter Cask Finish Cask Strength (James Eadie) (58.6%)

This is a single cask Aberlour from Speyside, distilled on 11 December 2014 and bottled by James Eadie at a cask strength of 58.6% ABV. Only 176 bottles were filled. After ten years the whisky was moved into a refill Oloroso quarter cask made from European oak, where it spent 20 months. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose shows dark plums and concentrated raisins with Oloroso depth and spicy wood. The palate is full and velvety, with caramel and malt, sherry and plum, then cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and turns steadily drier.
