Aberlour Forest Reserve is a ten-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled by the distillery at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in former bourbon and sherry casks, and part of the whisky is given an extra finish in French oak. The name refers to Aberlour's commitment to protecting woodland in Speyside.
The nose is red apple and vanilla with a fine touch of oak. On the palate it is soft, with apricot and toasted almonds alongside nutmeg and clove, and a vanilla cream note when water is added. The finish is long and warm, with fruit, spice, roasted nuts and dry oak.
