This is an Aberlour single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2026 by the independent bottler Murray McDavid for its Benchmark series.
The whisky first matured in European sherry butts. It then received a finish in Pedro Ximénez barriques from Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola, and the influence of the PX sherry is clear on the palate.
The nose offers ripe plums, raisins and orange peel, with creamy malt and light vanilla. On the palate come creamy honey, soft toffee and dark berries. The finish brings gentle oak, a hint of mocha and lasting fruit.
