Aberlour – 11 Year Old Vintage 2014 Ximénez-Spínola PX Sherry Cask Finish (Murray McDavid Benchmark) (57.2%)

This Aberlour was distilled in 2014 in Speyside and bottled at 11 years old by Murray McDavid for its Benchmark series. The strength is 57.2% ABV and only 901 bottles were filled. The whisky first matured in European oak sherry butts, then was finished in fresh Pedro Ximénez barriques from Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola. It is unfiltered and of natural colour. The nose is ripe fruit and fresh orange peel over creamy malt. The palate brings thick honey, soft toffee and a little dark berry. The finish is long, with mocha and gentle oak.
