Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Aberlour was founded by James Fleming in 1879.
The whisky is matured for a minimum of 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. The American oak brings vanilla and sweetness, while the sherry casks add depth, spice and rich fruit.
The nose is sweet red apples, honey and warm spice with a touch of sherry richness. The palate is smooth and well rounded, with ripe fruit, creamy toffee, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long, warm and gently spiced, with sweet oak and dried fruit.
