Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and sherry oak casks.
The nose is soft and rounded, with red apples, ripe pears and sultanas alongside honeyed malt, vanilla and a touch of gentle spice. On the palate it turns sherried, with chocolate, toffee and caramelised sugar, cinnamon, ginger and sweet malt, in a smooth, medium-bodied style. The finish is lingering, sweet and warm, with a little spice and echoes of soft fruit, milk chocolate and gentle oak.
