Aberlour – 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured (75cl)

Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured is a Speyside single malt from the Aberlour Distillery, in a 75cl bottle. The whisky is matured for a minimum of 12 years in two types of cask: American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and European oak Oloroso sherry butts. The two are then vatted together, so the vanilla sweetness of the bourbon wood sits alongside the spiced fruit of the sherry. The nose is typically described as red apples and ripe autumn fruit with vanilla caramel, honey and light baking spices. On the palate come honeycomb, vanilla fudge, plums, raisins and milk chocolate, and the finish is medium to long with ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and charred oak.
