This is a single cask, cask strength Aberlour single malt from Speyside, distilled in November 1993 and bottled in 2008 at 14 years old. It comes from the Warehouse No.1 series, a distillery exclusive, and each bottle was filled by hand at the distillery and individually numbered.
The whisky matured in a first-fill sherry cask and was bottled at 59.7% ABV.
The nose brings ripe plums, cherries and vanilla, with oak, salt, hay, ginger and allspice. The palate is warming, with marzipan, apricot and blackberry, then clove, ginger and cocoa, and a touch of peat. The finish is long and spicy, with mint, coffee, walnut and cinnamon, ending on nutmeg and black pepper.
