Aberlour 14 Year Old Double Cask Matured is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. Part of the whisky matures in traditional refill casks and part in ex-sherry butts, and the two are brought together afterwards.
The refill casks contribute subtler aromas, while the sherry butts add richer ones and give a ruby-gold colour.
The nose is balanced, with dried fruit, spice and a touch of oak. The palate is soft and smooth, with fruit, a hint of butterscotch and gentle spice, leading to a smooth finish of medium length.
