Aberlour – 16 Year Old Double Cask Matured (70cl)

This is a 16-year-old Aberlour single malt, in a 70cl bottle. It is double cask matured: part of the whisky rests in traditional refill casks and part in ex-sherry butts, and the two are brought together after at least 16 years. The refill casks add subtle aromas, while the sherry butts bring richer ones and a ruby-gold colour. Together they give the whisky a deep character, with refined fruit and spice aromas. Aberlour dates from 1879, and water from St Drostan's Well in the distillery grounds is still used to make it.
