Aberlour 16 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt from the distillery on the Burn of Aberlour, in a 70cl bottle. It spends time in two kinds of oak: first in ordinary oak casks, then in sherry casks chosen each year by the Master Distiller. The colour is a rich golden amber.
The nose is rich and drying, with floral notes, sweet raisins and spicy nuts. The palate is soft and full, with flowers, spice, soft plums and pleasant wood. The finish is long and warm, with spicy fruit and vanilla-like oak.
