Aberlour 16 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for 16 years in a combination of American oak casks and sherry butts. The distillery sits at the foot of Ben Rinnes, and spring water running down its slopes and along the Lour valley supplies the malt whisky.
The cask combination gives warm, fruity character with a spicy sweetness. On the palate it is smooth and full, with sweet, floral and spicy flavours, plum and gentle oak. The finish is long and warm, with spicy fruit.
