This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Aberlour, finished in sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Its colour is a chestnut gold.
The distillery stands in the village of Aberlour, where St Drostan's Well supplied the pure spring water that inspired its founding in 1879.
The nose is rich and complex, with toffee, butterscotch, ripe peach and bitter orange. On the palate, soft apricot and cream are offset by old leather and oak, with a touch of honey. The finish is very long and balanced, with crème brûlée and a gentle oaky note.
