Aberlour – 21 Year Old 1970 (75cl, 43%)

A 21 year old Aberlour from 1970, made from barley harvested after an exceptionally fine summer. That year the distillery manager, Ian Mitchell, set aside 30 oak casks that had held his favoured bourbon, and the malt aged in them for over 21 years at the distillery on the River Spey. It is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle and is described as smooth and beautifully balanced, with the distinctive Aberlour character and notable length and complexity.
