This is Aberlour 25 Year Old, a Speyside single malt from the distillery founded by James Fleming in 1879. It matured for 25 years in a combination of European and American oak casks and is bottled at its natural cask strength of 50.8%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose has juicy orange slices, peaches in syrup, red liquorice, rich caramel sweets, marzipan, cinnamon sticks and sweet toasted oak. Fresh apricot, candied cherries, ripe red plums and vanilla ice cream lead the palate, followed by fresh ginger and a hint of cardamom. The finish is very fruity and sweet, with a playful spiciness.
