This is Batch 7 of Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. Alba is the bourbon cask counterpart to the sherry-matured A'Bunadh.
It matured in first fill American oak ex-bourbon casks and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.9% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
The nose is oily and fruity, with ripe apples, rowan berries, tropical fruit and vanilla, turning dusty and oaky with time. The palate is rich, creamy and full-bodied, with white pepper, dry oak and a hint of citrus. The finish is medium long, dry, fruity and softly spicy.
