This is Batch 77 of Aberlour A'bunadh, a Speyside single malt matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. It is bottled at 60.8% in a 70cl bottle.
The sherry influence shows throughout. The nose offers dark chocolate, dried fruit, raisins, figs, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate there is rich sweetness, with caramel, toffee and dark fruit compote alongside cloves and oak. The finish is long, with lingering warmth and sweetness.
