This is Aberlour Double Cask, a 12 year old Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 48% ABV. It is a clear, deep golden amber in the glass and takes a splash of water well.
The nose is rich fruitcake, dark dried fruit, toasty biscuit and walnuts with creamy mocha coffee. The palate is dark and toasty, with burnt fruitcake, plum, chocolate mousse and spice from nutmeg, cinnamon and a little clove. The finish returns to toasty mocha coffee, chocolate cake and spice.
