Aberlour – Triple Cask Matured (70cl, 40%)

Aberlour Triple Cask is a Speyside single malt from the Aberlour distillery, which James Fleming founded in 1879. The whisky is matured in two types of American oak casks that previously held bourbon, and in European oak casks that previously held sherry. It is bottled at 40%, chill-filtered and without added colouring. Honey, ripe pear and vanilla caramel come together on the nose. On the palate, sweet-sour orange and red apple meet liquorice and toasted almonds. The medium to long finish keeps butterscotch and dark fruit alongside fine oak spice, turning slightly drier before it fades warm.
