Adnams Southwold Single Malt is an English single malt made at the Copper House Distillery, which opened alongside the Adnams brewery in Southwold, Suffolk, in 2010. It is made from 100% East Anglian malted barley, the same local grain used in the company's beers, and distilled in small batches on a copper pot still.
The whisky is matured for five years in new French oak barrels and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is juicy orchard fruit, ripe apricot and golden honey, opening into dark berries and a hint of tutti frutti. The palate brings runny honey, vanilla and apricot, then pear and a note of black pepper. The finish is caramel sweet, with a dry edge and lingering fruit.
