Aerstone Single Malt Scotch 10 Year Old Land Cask (70cl, 40%)

Aerstone Land Cask is a ten-year-old Lowland single malt from William Grant & Sons. It matures in warehouses inland in Ayrshire, and Highland peat gives it its smoky character. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Caramelised sugar and candied apple give the peat smoke a sweet centre, with liquorice and oak alongside. The nose is spicy and smoky, recalling campfire and smoked bacon, with a little sweetness and citrus. The palate is soft and creamy, with vanilla and further fruit. The finish is long and warm, with peat smoke and vanilla sweetness, plus earthy and nutty notes and toffee.
