Akashi Blended Japanese Whisky Sherry Cask Finish - White Oak Distillery (50cl)

A Japanese blended whisky from the White Oak Distillery in the city of Akashi, from which it takes its name, in a 50cl bottle. The blend is 70% grain whisky and 30% malted barley, double distilled in two pot stills. The spirit rests for three to four years in American oak, then spends a further six months in ex-sherry casks. The stills at White Oak run for only one month each year, so production is small. It is amber in colour. The nose is spicy and fruity, with apricot, dried fruit and vanilla. The palate is full, sweet and savoury, with sweet spices and dried fruit.
