Tokinoka is a Japanese blended whisky from the White Oak Distillery in Akashi, in a 50cl bottle. The name means 'scent of time'. The distillery was founded in 1888, received the first distilling licence in Japan and began making whisky in small quantities in 1919.
It is a blend of Akashi single malts, chosen for their soft texture, and matured for several years in oak casks before bottling.
The nose is mostly fruity, with apricot and dried fruit and a touch of honey. The palate follows the nose, full-bodied yet smooth, and the finish is of good length.
