Akashi Meïsei Blended Whisky (50cl, 40%)

Akashi Meïsei is a Japanese blended whisky from the Eigashima distillery, bottled at 40% in a 50cl bottle. It combines 45% malt whisky with 55% grain whisky and is matured in American white oak casks. This is a limited bottling. Oak and vanilla set the character, with sweetness and spice alongside. Colour has been added and the whisky is chill-filtered. The nose offers oak, vanilla and clear malt notes, with lemon, cedar, ripe yellow fruit and melon, plus vanilla sugar and delicate blossom honey. The palate is full and sweet yet soft and fresh, with ginger and light wood spice. The finish is woody, drier and a little more bitter, with a touch of bitter almond, lemon and light saltiness.
