Akkeshi – Ritto 立冬 2021 Peated Japanese Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 55%)

Ritto is the fifth single malt in Akkeshi's 24-Season Series, a peated Japanese whisky bottled at 55% as a limited edition, number five of 24. The name marks the season when the first snowflakes arrive in the north of Japan. The distillery describes the full-bodied sweetness of the malt as having deepened, like the winter itself, and hopes it will be enjoyed over the New Year holidays. Tasting notes mention brown sugar, a fruit basket, chocolate, soy sauce, citrus sweetness and sourness, white pepper, barbecue and tangerine.
