Akkeshi – Taisho 8/24 2022 Limited Edition Blended Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Akkeshi Taisho is a Japanese blended whisky, the eighth release in the distillery's 24 Solar Term series. It is a limited edition from 2022, bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The key malt in the blend was matured in Mizunara oak casks made in Hokkaido. The box design is based on the yukata, the summer kimono, recalling the summer festivals of Akkeshi town. The nose brings incense, biscuit and fresh fruit. The palate moves from a dry impression to a lactic, acidic richness, with honey, chocolate sweetness, nutmeg and a touch of salt. The finish is spicy and sweet, with a slight trace of peat.
