Taisho is the eighth release in Akkeshi's 24 Solar Terms series, a limited edition blended whisky from Japan dated 2022. The key malt in the blend was aged in Mizunara oak casks made in Hokkaido.
It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is peaty, with a firm citrus freshness and some sweetness.
On the nose there are incense, cookies and fresh fruits. The palate moves from a dry impression to a lactic richness, with honey, chocolate sweetness, nutmeg and a salty note. The finish is spicy and sweet, with a slight peat passing through the nose.
