Amarás Espadín Reposado is a mezcal made from Espadín agave grown in Tlacolula, Oaxaca. The agave is grown for eight years, then roasted in a conical stone oven. Fermentation is natural, in pine vats, and the spirit is distilled twice in small copper stills.
The reposado rests for a minimum of three months in barrels made from two oaks: American oak, medium toasted, for the body, and light-toasted French oak for the lid. This gives it a light amber tone.
The nose is warm wood and freshly cooked agave. The palate is smooth, with light vanilla and toasted hazelnut, and the finish is warm and persistent.
