Ancient Age is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 40% ABV in a 1.75L bottle. It has been made since 1946 from corn, rye and malted barley, and aged in new charred oak.
It has no age statement, and the colour is a mellow golden brown.
The nose is light and sweet, with corn, orange zest, caramel and vanilla. The palate follows with corn, caramel, toffee and vanilla, a hint of spice and gentle oak. The finish is quick, lingering on toffee with a touch of citrus.
