This is a 6 year old peated single malt from Annandale in the Lowlands, from the 2017 vintage. It is bottled at 48.5% ABV for the McCallum Auld Alliance Vintage series.
The nose combines intense smoke and earthy peat with a gentle sea breeze, citrus and sweet malt. On the palate the smoke is clear but balanced by honey, vanilla and caramelised fruit, with spice adding further layers. The finish is long and smoky, recalling a bonfire on the beach.
