Arbikie – Highland Rye 1794 Release 2020 (70cl, 48%)

Highland Rye 1794 is a single grain Scotch whisky from Arbikie, a young distillery in the Scottish Highlands. This is the 2020 release, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. Arbikie is the first distillery in 100 years to make rye whisky in Scotland. The owners come from farming families going back generations, and they grow their own grain for the spirit. The nose combines clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, thyme and butterscotch. On the palate, plenty of spice such as cinnamon and allspice is softened by sweet molasses and honey. The finish is of medium length.
