Ardbeg 10 Years Old is an Islay single malt made at Ardbeg Distillery on the island's south coast. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill-filtered.
The whisky was aged for ten years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The barley is malted to approximately 56 ppm phenol content.
On the nose there is burning rope, tar, smoked fish and crispy bacon, with lemon, green pepper, menthol and pear juice behind. The palate offers peaty smoke, black pepper, cinnamon toffee, dark chocolate and espresso, with creamy and orchard fruit sweetness. The finish is long, with dry peat, liquorice, anise and bitter lemon peel, and smoke lingering alongside oak spice and sweet barley.
