Ardbeg – 11 Year Old 1998 Single Cask (2009)

This Ardbeg was distilled in 1998 and matured for eleven years in a single first-fill bourbon barrel, cask #1275. The barrel was filled on 20 October 1998 and the whisky was bottled on 29 October 2009 at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The release runs to 252 numbered bottles, each signed by hand by the distillery manager. Coal-tar smoke, briny citrus and vanilla cream sweetness are the notes it is known for, with coconut and a creamy note from the bourbon wood.
