This is a 14 year old Ardbeg from Islay, distilled in 2005 and matured in a single bourbon hogshead. Douglas Laing bottled it for the Old Particular range, filling 325 bottles from the one cask.
It is the first release in the Spiritual Series, named 'Balance', which takes its inspiration from the harmony of sweetness, spice and Islay smoke. Ardbeg itself is known for pairing sooty, tarry smoke with a citric sweet core.
