Ardbeg 15 Year Old was distilled in 2005 and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It is an Islay single malt matured in a single bourbon cask, which gave 287 bottles.
Ardbeg was founded in 1815 on Islay's southern coast and is known for combining sooty, tarry smoke with a citric sweet core. The smoke comes from heavily peated malt, while a long fermentation adds softness and a clean, acidic fruitiness.
